The Social Media Producer will write, edit, produce and promote content for the Columbia University Law School Communications Department's social media channels. Reporting to the Digital Director, the Social Media Producer will work with the communications team and others at the Law School to enhance the visibility of the Law School.


RESPONSIBILITIES


- Working with the Digital Director, the Social Media Producer will develop strategies for all social media platforms and track trends and emerging practices. The SMP will also encourage and train others, especially faculty, to participate in social media as it relates to their scholarship and to the Law School.


- Develop engaging content, visuals and video for the Law School's social media channels. Write, edit and source content for posts. Maintain the publishing calendar. Produce and publish as needed for live coverage of events


- Track engagement, using metrics and analytics.


Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant


- A Bachelor's degree, with two to four years related experience.


- Experience writing and editing engaging social media content for professional social media profiles; familiarity with a broad range of social media strategies.


- Experience using and evaluating emerging social media platforms.


- Experience with Facebook Live, Periscope, Instagram Stories and Snapchat is a big plus.


- Basic experience with HTML, CSS, Photoshop and video editing software.


- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, under tight deadlines.


- Interest in public policy issues and legal issues.


- Must be self-motivated, demonstrate grace under pressure and possess the ability to work well both independently as well as within a team.
