Job Summary:

EYs Global Media Relations team requires an experienced and resilient PR professional to lead its Global PR across its five financial services sectors. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Financial Services space and will be skilled at developing strong relationships with senior business leaders, global media and other stakeholders. The role supports the PR for EYs Global Financial Services sectors, including: Banking & Capital Markets, Insurance, Wealth & Asset Management, Private Equity and Real Estate.

The PR lead initiates communications programs and delivers results that create the ideal environment for the sectors business and reputational goals. The successful candidate also provides communications counsel and raises the external profile of the five global partners and other sector leadership.

The candidate has at least 8-10 years PR experience ideally across the financial services market. The role interacts with senior executives and we are seeking a pro-active, dynamic person who can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and has a creative and strategic mind. The PR lead brings keen analytical skills, can spot and analyze trends and implement compelling communications programs.

The candidate has a proven track record in generating exceptional results with global media, business and trade press. Additionally, the candidate is skilled at securing buy-in from our multiple, disparate stakeholders across a complex matrix, has worked in a global role and is comfortable working in a complex environment.

Essential Functions of the Job:
Work as a strategic external communications advisor to the EYs sector leadership and team in developing practical and measurable PR plans and ultimately be considered a valued extended member of the business team
Work in collaboration with the Financial Services sectors global leadership and Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC) colleagues to create compelling and measurable PR and social media initiatives
Bring fresh ideas and thinking to the team; remain current on news and trends impacting the FS sectors and embed in PR strategy and execution
Position sector leadership as experts on key industry issues and hot topics by placing op-eds/comment pieces and pitching reports
Track and use the global news agenda to proactively develop opportunities for comment or for pitching reports
Engage directly with key international media to improve EYs profile; anticipate and manage risks with the global media director
Initiate a compelling PR calendar of activities for sector and track features across all relevant media
Develop and deliver a journalist relationship management and contact program for the sector leaders
Work across time zones and communicate regularly with the EY global PR network, informing them of appropriate initiatives and briefing them where appropriate
Experience managing complex, international crises/issues and ability to anticipate risks and manage them
Benchmark position to understand results and deliver improved media and social media results
Prepare press releases and other media briefing materials for launches of global surveys, studies and campaigns; create content that builds engagement with the global media relations network
Manage/support the social media profile for key sector leaders and sector practice accounts, where it relates to media relations, news or relationship with industry influencers and journalists
Draft regular progress reports for EY global leadership on PR activity
Direct and manage PR agencies as needed
Act as an ambassador for BMC across all internal and external engagements
Assist with planning and supporting the media engagement around EY Global

Knowledge, Competency and Skill Requirements:
An ability to advise senior stakeholders in building effective media programs and engaging with the international media
Extensive experience in managing and advising senior leadership on a day-to-day basis
A self-starter with a can do attitude and the drive to get the job done; the potential to develop within the organization
An ability to work with complex, sometimes technical or specialist content
A passion for current affairs and business news and ideally have past experience of working within or doing PR around one or more of the FS sectors
An understanding of, and keen interest in, print and broadcast media relations; demonstrate strong media relationship development experience
Good existing relationships or work effectively with producers at broadcast media (including CNBC, Bloomberg, CNN and BBC World) and general business and markets writers at key international media (including Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Reuters, Dow Jones)
Strong social media skills
Cultural awareness and sensitivity, as this role will involve daily interaction with people in countries around the globe. Ideally strong experience in handling international project launches.
Accuracy and attention to detail; reliability
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Ability to manage several projects concurrently; excellent time management and organizational skills
A strong team player and lateral thinker, comfortable working collaboratively, virtually and independently
Excellent communication and networking experience and skills in a wide range of situations and with people at all levels within the organization, including global leadership

Experience Requirements:
Minimum 8-10 years PR experience working in-house or PR agency; also in-depth knowledge, contacts and expertise across the financial services industries
Experience managing high-profile events and/or press conferences, ideally global initiatives that involve a large number of countries
Experience working with senior executives and managing individuals media profiles
