Overview: The Strategic Project Analyst participates in and is responsible for managing analytical and database management support functions related to strategy development, decision support, strategic hospital, ambulatory and physician need and supply for the various affiliates and business entities within Hackensack University Health Network.
The Strategic Project Analyst plays an integral role in assisting the network development team in developing, analyzing and quantifying strategic initiatives. The Analyst will collaborate closely with the health network management teams by providing objective data, analysis, and concrete and actionable business planning materials that enable leadership to surface issues, develop opportunities, make informed decisions and achieve strategic goals.
This position is responsible for the support of the development of the Network's integration with affiliated entities and groups and maximization of growth and network strategy opportunities. Implements and prioritizes resources to successfully achieve division objectives. Responsible for representing and enhancing the reputation of the network within its key communities.

Responsibilities: Conducts assessments of market position, developments, trends, demographics, strategic options and product line definitions in collaboration with other health network strategic support persons or groups.
Analyzes network development fulfillment opportunities, per plan, for major product lines/services. Evaluates and monitors product line/service development through quantitative and qualitative reporting.
Enable and drive project strategy development consistent with the strategic business objectives of Hackensack Meridian Health.
Implements project management best practices to effectively and efficiently meet project goals and objectives.
Ensure continuous consistency with project strategy.
Supports and manages all activities relating to project requirements from execution to close.
Responsible for support of market growth, business planning and market analysis for all network development activities, affiliate markets, and emerging markets.
Responsible for supporting the development of concrete and actionable strategies and plans related to physician strategy for all network development activities, affiliate markets, and emerging markets.
Works as directed to capitalize on key growth initiatives. Assist with the development of business plans for new and existing products and services.
Work with internal customers to prioritize departmental resources among competing demands.
Maintain primary and secondary research and data collection to support business growth and development.
Assists leadership in the development of joint ventures, affiliations and partnership arrangements.
Supports network building and integration strategies to consolidate access to and to enhance the Medical Center's strategic position.
Analyzes and interprets data on established and prospective initiatives and on competitors to determine market opportunities. Assists the Director, Strategic Development and other network staff to develop, implement and evaluate business opportunities for HackensackUHN entities.
Research and compile data and information from various appropriate sources. Recommend data sources as appropriate.
Analyze and summarize information to support network development efforts, including analyzing formatting market, volume, financial and other information. Based upon completed analyses draw conclusions and develop recommendations. Recommend analytic approaches as appropriate. Develop written and graphical reports.
Manage internal and external decision support databases and/or software applications including utilization, internal, and industry resource reporting products.
Collect or access data and convert into easily useable format (i.e. Excel Pivot Table) for use by Network Development team. Ensure data provided uses consistent assumptions and methodology. Ensure data provided is accurate and up-to-date. Manage existing and aid in development of new volume forecast models for inpatient, outpatient and physician workforce planning.
Performs other network development and market research related duties as assigned or requested.
Adheres to the standards identified in the Organizational Competencies.

Qualifications: Bachelors in Business Administration, emphasis on economics, database management, mathematics or statistics preferred.
Minimum of 2-4 years' experience in corporate network and/or business development in a tertiary/ quaternary and/or academic hospital, regional health system, or consulting environment, preferably with experience in more than one region and/or metropolitan healthcare market.
Minimum of 2 years prior experience in a project management or health care related environment required.
Demonstrated and successful experience in a lead PMO or project Management Position is required.
Demonstrated expertise in developing and utilizing databases.
Advanced level experience with Microsoft® Office© including Word©, PowerPoint©, Excel©, MapInfo (or other mapping software), Access© and other database tools.
Demonstrated competence in translating complex data into simple written and graphic presentations.
High level of problem solving and complex scenario thinking skills.
Excellent oral and written communication and business planning skills, including making formal presentations to hospital executives and leadership audiences.
Ability to deal well with competing priorities, heavy workloads and a rapidly changing business and corporate environments.
Proven experience in dealing with hospital leadership and a demonstrated ability to provide effective recommendations to management.
Experience with The Advisory Board©, Truven and other data sources and tools is preferred.
