Congregation Shaare Zedek (212 West 93rd Street) is looking to hire an administrative assistant for Summer 2016, beginning on or about May 12 through the middle of August. The congregation is searching for a new Administrative Director, and the Administrative Assistant will be the only full-time professional on site until the new Director is hired. Once the Director is hired, the Administrative Assistant will help prepare the contents of the synagogue building for an impending move-out in advance of a construction project.

Responsibilities include:
Staffing the office from 9:30am to 5:30pm Monday-Thursday and 9am-2pm on Fridays throughout the summer except for federal and Jewish holidays.
Answering phones
Ordering food for weekly kiddushes and meals
Coordinating with Facility Manager to complete all necessary room setups, purchases and repairs
Working with the Treasurer to prepare and mail checks and pay bills
Working with the Vice President for Membership to prepare and send weekly emails
Coordinate program details with the Rabbi
Beginning preparations for High Holiday services
Begin preparations of synagogue contents for move-out
Other tasks as directed by the Board

Salary commensurate with experience.
